La Roux
I have received the self-titled debut album from La Roux yesterday (it’s available tomorrow) and I have now absorbed it all in.

What’s more sad? The fact that a cultural icon and musical genius has died? Or the fact that his death has been exploited for tasteless humor?
My mobile phone has died on me, my primary communication method (other than face to face talking) has ceased to function.
It was partly my fault, it could have been any number of things that had happened over the weekend. My mobile was not loved, it didn’t have a good home and needless to say it was somewhat abused by myself. That said, there isn’t a charity to support abused mobile phones and I’m stuck here without it.
It was either the throwing it at the wall or letting my baby cousin suck on it that caused the demise of my technological enemy.
Before I cause trouble, it must be stated that I love my iPod and my Mac, Apple to me are the superior creator of everything within their field. Everything they do, they do brilliantly.
However, iPod Touch users have had to pay several times for updates (notably this week for the 3.0 software update). I did this and was proud to do so. They are not making profit from me to use the phone capabilities like they do from iPhone users, so theoretically, we should pay for these updates (even though it is arguable at the very least that this weeks update isn’t really worth it, since most features are iPhone only*).
That said, Apple has gone out of their way to take features away from the iPod Touch that are available to iPhone users (and with no technical reason why iPod users can’t have it). For example; don’t like the battery bar on the iPhone? You have the option to display it as a percentage. A small, but very handy feature. It is a feature that as an iPod user, I’d like, but we don’t have the option for that.
My friend directed me to Reactable, an interactive free-DIY synthesizer table. I’m very impressed, maybe this could be a project for me to make?

As an artist who has been faced with this rather broad question lately, I decided I would tackle it head on, or at least give it a good shot.
This subject was brought up on a community forum that I use where the opinions of art were relatively straight forward and irrational (and clearly not made by artists themselves). Put simply, those people were wrong.
