Inglourious Basterds

Monday, August 31st, 2009

I’ve just gotten back from watching Quentin Tarrantino’s Inglourious Basterds. It pains me to write the title (two misspellings), however, it certainly doesn’t pain me to watch it.

I’m only two weeks late to watch it and my intention was to see it on the day of release, but I’ve been busy lately and have just managed to finally indulge myself. It’s one of Tarantino’s better films, not that he has managed to create a poor film (yet). The film is comparable to Pulp Fiction (yes, I’ll go with that bold statement).

I’m not going to review it, I’m too late for that. Instead, I’m simply going to urge those who haven’t yet seen it, to do so.

Ramp Champ

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

The long-awaited game for the iPhone/iPod Touch, Ramp Champ, has been released to the masses and naturally, I rushed onto the App Store to go get it this morning.

As a fan of seaside arcade games and the whole atmosphere of the cheap and chirpy British (or indeed any seaside) atmosphere, full of piers, mediocre beaches, slightly above average attractions and the wonderfully diverse array of people and culture, I thought this game would be for me.

I have played Skee-ball before but was rather skeptical about whether a game on a small device could replicate the feel of a popular seaside game. Amazingly, it did. The sound track and the sound effects, combined with the game play and absolutely stunning graphics contributed to the making of one of the best games you can get on the iPhone.

Project "Surf"

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

The other day, I created some mockups for the perfect Mac OS X web browser (at least from my perspective) and I’d thought I’d share my interesting, though slightly shaky results.

Design is far from perfect and it all needs cleaning up if it were to ever become ‘real’, but as this is just an idea at present, there are no worries.

Imogen Heap – Ellipse

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

Imogen Heap’s album, Ellipse, comes out next week, but you can listen to the album in its entirety online for free, right now (see the link below).

The album is intelligent, catchy, beautifully constructed and layered well; a nice change in the modern music scene, where talent is found sparsely spaced between the drivel of half-assed musicians with only fame and glory on their vacant minds.

If you haven’t already, you should watch the video for the single, Canvas, which perfectly represents the elegance of her music and this album especially (see link below).

Internet Down…Again

Saturday, August 15th, 2009

Internet is down again, which is preventing me from working and leaving me with no money.

It is causing a lot of stress and to be honest, BT have given nothing but appalling customer service, but that is a rant for another time as I can only use the Internet connections at my friends houses.
